Current Beauty Routine
/I don’t like change, but you never discover amazing things by staying in your comfort zone.
I am currently running low on a few of my makeup products and after hearing great things about a few other products I am going to branch out and try them! But first, I want to share with you all what my makeup routine has currently been for the past few years. Hopefully you might find something you want to incorporate into your routine just like I have found by reading other peoples blogs and listening to suggestions.
Skincare:
- Growing up my mom has always used Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizer Gel and so have I! It definitely puts the moisture back into your skin and is very light weight. I use it at night and in the morning when my skin is feeling dry.
-For my birthday this year Sephora gave me some products from Drunk Elephant. Like I said I don’t branch out much so I had never heard of it. One of the products that I now love is Protini Polypeptide Cream. I use it every morning and night and it really does make my face feel as soft as a baby’s clean bottom
Foundation/Concealer:
-About five year ago I met my husband at a wedding after I had just gotten my makeup done by MAC! They have a great makeovers and lessons! So I know he didn’t marry me for the way I looked that night, but every since then I just really liked MAC makeup so the foundation that I use is Pro Longerwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation it lasts for 36 hours and can be used as a foundation or concealer. It gives you that blank slate effect and full matte coverage. I wear NC20
-Another great foundation I have incorporated into my routine in the last year is Yves Saint Laurent’s All-In-One Glow Tinted Moisturizer. It’s more of a medium coverage and great for an everyday look. It also has SPF 23!
Concealer:
-I dampen a contouring sponge and use it to spread concealer under my eyes to hide the puffiness and dark circles that tend to collect on this teachers face. Like my foundation I use Pro Longwear Concealer. It provides full matte coverage for up to 24 hours. I wear a shade lighter than my foundation.
-Another concealer I sometimes use is Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Away Concealer. It’s great for on the go use because it has sponge attached! I use shade 2 Fair Pale
Cheeks:
-I use a Mineralized Bronzing Powder on the underside my my cheeks and around the crown of my head. It helps to highlight and give a sun-kissed color to your sin. The shade I use is Warm Soul. It lasts about a year even with everyday use.
-I use Mineralized Blush on my cheekbones that has a nice shimmer to it! I used the color Dainty
-The last touch I add to my cheeks is Mineralized Skinfinish it helps blend everything together and give a highlighted finish with Vitamin E. I use the shade Soft and Gentle.
Eyes:
-On an everyday basis I use just mascara. There are two MAC ones I like and another one by Lancome. The first by Mac is Haute and Naughty Waterproof Mascara that is a two in one for a thicker or thinner look. The other is Extreme Dimensions Waterproof Mascara that enhances volume, lengthens, and curls your eyelashes. The last one that I really like is Lancome’s Big Monsieur Mascara that give your lashes a bold look!
-When I do wear eye liner I always use liquid. I’ve found that it feels like a paintbrush and can glide easily. I use Brushstroke 24 hour liner on mu lid
-On my under-eyelid I use a Technoakohl Mechanical Pencil-Style liner that has a soft and creamy formula. I use different shades light and dark blue.
-For everyday eyeshadow I use NAKED2 the Matte Mini and it has a lot of great neutrals. For a more formal occasion I’ll do a stocky eye using a Burgoundy pallet and this is the one they used when I got my makeup done at MAC or I’ll use an Amber Pallet.
-Also when getting dressed up I will put a Luminier in the corner of my eyes that really makes them pop!
Lips:
-My wedding stylist introduced me to Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. It lasted the entire wedding day and night! It’s great when you can’t re-apply. They also have a great lipgloss.
-I also use Yves Saint Laurent Heart and Arrow Collector Rouge Shine Lipstick. It helps hydrate your lips and looks like a gloss!
-I also have a great Cremesheen Red by MAC that I get so many compliments on around the holidays.
